It's good practice if you already have some ability. It works more like a game than a tutorial. I must be missing something. As of late performance is very poor. Lags, choppy sound clips, hangs after ads, and there are issues with not honoring double XP after earning it. Exercises are getting too long. Ten questions should be plenty. I'm less apt to stick with a session for more than one or two exercises when it takes so long to finish just one exercise.

Decent. I do Japanese and Spanish, and it's equally fine for both. Easy to practice listening and speaking, and for Japanese they have a place to practice just the writing. However, the app constantly changes your place in lessons, making it wildly difficult to know where you are and feel any sense of satisfaction with your progress. Competitiveness is now a non-negotiable component, and the app is now harder to navigate and it's significantly harder to find things. 3 stars.

good app, fun lessons, gamification in a positive way. drawbacks are that the ads are annoying and persistent, the lessons can be ambiguous - they never teach you explicitly what the grammar is. It is all trial by fire. It would be nice if there were ways in-app to look up conjunctions and declensions (not sure if it's called that for the language I'm learning). One time a way is correct, the next it is incorrect. If you don't pay you are at a disadvantage for competitions.
